TO ALL WHO SUPPORT OUR CITY YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMS: The Naples City Council has ordered a Comprehensive Community Needs Assessment Survey to evaluate the current uses and future needs of our City Parks. Within the next few weeks, this survey will be randomly distributed to residents of the City. The responses of the survey will be analyzed by a consultant and may influence the recommendation of a Master Park Plan to the Council, either to maintain, to remove or to enhance certain aspects of our community parks.
The completion of this survey with adequate representation of the youth and family activities in our community will be critical. If you live within the City of Naples limits and you receive a survey, please complete it. If you support a well-balanced community and neighborhood parks, inclusive of youth activities with adequate sports facilities, we encourage your consideration of the following responses to this survey:
Question #1 - check….. (04) Cambier Park Playground, (06) Cambier Park Ballfield, (08) Fleischmann Park Playground, (09) Fleischmann Park Sports Facilities
As our regular baseball season comes to a close, Greater Naples Little League thanks you for another successful year. We also want to make you aware of an important and exciting upcoming post-season baseball event.
This event is our end of season Skills Clinics to be held on the following dates:
• League Ages 9 & 10: Saturday, May 30th, 2015 from 9:00am - 11:00am at Fleischmann – South Field
• League Ages 11 & 12: Saturday, May 30th, 2015 from 9:00am - 11:00am at Fleischmann – North Field
The purpose of the Skills Clinics is to reinforce baseball fundamentals learned throughout the season as well as introduce certain skills to the players as they prepare for the selection to the upcoming Little League Tournament (“All-Stars”) Teams. Note: Attendance at these Clinics is required to be selected to one of the 2015 Tournament (“All Stars”) Teams – this includes any prior years All Star players. Having played in prior seasons is not a guarantee for selection in the current year. All players are required to tryout.
All-Stars competition differs significantly from regular season play in terms of commitment, playing rules and team composition. Players selected to the All-Star teams should expect intense daily practices before and during the Tournament schedule. Tournament play also has the potential to run through the month of July or beyond depending on the success of a particular team; thus, family vacation may be extremely limited.
The Tryouts will be utilized by the Managers to select the 9 & 10, 10 & 11 and 11 & 12 Tournament (“All Stars”) teams. If selected to a team the league fee is $100. This fee will be due at the first team practice following the teams being named. The moneys will be used to defray the league’s costs associated with the All Stars campaign, including game and practice uniforms, etc.
Please email any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org Again, thank you for another great baseball season! Best regards,
On behalf of Greater Naples Little League
Last year, Little League National made some Composite bats illegal. Since then, some of those bats have been tested and approved by Little League. If you are planning on buying a bat this Holiday Season, please make sure the bat is on one of these lists. Just because the bat is printed with “Little League Approved”, does not mean it has been tested and approved. Do not take the word of the sales person in the store, only bats on these lists will be permitted to be used in practice and games.
Also, this list is updated by Little League every time they approve a new bat. As long as you check the updated list before you make your purchase, you will be safe.
Welcome to Greater Naples Little League! Each year, Greater Naples Little League (GNLL) helps over 360 boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14 learn and enjoy our national pasttime. GNLL was franchised on May 22nd, 1959, making it the first Little League in Collier County.
GNLL is dedicated to creating an environment that places equal emphasis on learning positive skills such as sportsmanship, competition, and team effort, while learning the game of baseball and having fun. There are over 140 volunteers that dedicate their time to the league every season. GNLL applauds the Board of Directors, League Volunteers, Team Managers, Assistant Coaches, and Team Parents that make the program possible.
Greater Naples Little League is a chartered affiliate of Little League Baseball, Inc. and participates within the newly designated District 27 of the Little League Southern Region. GNLL operates under the guidelines of the GNLL Board of Director's Constitution and By-laws and the Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball Incorporated of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
